First Thought
After the session was introduced in the class, I could not think of anything because I thought I would not be able to relate the themes with animation but when we were explained in the class by the tutor with the presentation I was all cleared and it helped me in choosing the theme called "Oceanic". I chose the theme called Oceanic because ever since my childhood, I wanted to see the ocean and the creatures found inside it. I used to watch movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Finding Nemo, Life of Pi and The Little Mermaid when I was a child. I used to fantasize all those scenes in real life as I was just a kid. However, with the help of this theme, I can now bring my fantasies to the reality.
As this theme is related to Ocean, it has a great possibilities in the world of animation because an animator can create a hundreds of series taking any creatures or animals found in the ocean. Animation is all about giving life to drawing or objects. There are hundreds of movies that were inspired by water animals. When it comes to animation, the industry would really be busier if they start making movies or short clips taking the Oceanic theme. I have grown up hearing about the tales of the ocean, myths of the ocean and even monsters of the ocean. There are many animation movies which have been already been made in the industry. Some of the Top Movies such as Moana, Aquaman, Pirates of the Caribbean Series, The Meg, Jurassic Park 4, Titanic, Life of Pi, etc were also based on this theme. As an animator, I can already think of many ideas taking this theme. However, for the project, I have only considered 6 different ideas about Oceanic.
Firstly, when I heard about this project, I immediately thought of the movie "Aquaman" and the animation franchise of 1960s. When the movie "Aquaman" was released it broke the boundaries of animation and VFX and when I watched it, I knew why it was a sensation back then. In today's session, it brought back the unfulfilled desire of creating something astonishing taking "Oceanic".
