Final Outcome of " Vishnu-The Phoenix Emperor "

Greetings everyone! Today, I begin a inpiring journey of making a character inspired by the renowned figure in Greek mythology, Poseidon. According to Greek mythology, he is known as the god of the sea, earthquakes and horses. He is one of the twelve Olympian Gods, ruling over the waters and all marine life. He is the brother of Zeus and Hades. He was believed to control the tides, storms and calm seas, exerting his power through the movement of the waves. Poseidon's symbol was the trident. Legend says that he created this weapon by shattering a mountain, and it became a symbol of his authority and power. With his trident, Poseidon could cause earthquakes, which weere seen as sign of his wrath or displeasure. Poseidon was known for his strenght and unpredictability, and his favor or anger could bring calm waters or devasting floods. He also associated with creation and fertility.

To capture the essece of Poseidon, I gave him a pose that reflects natural leadership skills, commanding attention and inspiring those around him. Like Poseidon's unwavering spirit, my character will possess a powerful nature, facing challenges with head held high.

To create my character, I begain by creating a new canvas in Photoshop of 2000x3000 pixel frame(WxH). I chose the hard brush with stroke size of 6 and turned on the pressure sensitivity. Then I started my journey of making "Vishnu".
Firstly, I created the armature for my character and I followed the armature and made the final outcome. Please see the process provided below to explain in details.

After sketching throug each portion, I came up with the final outcome for the outline.

After making refined outlines, I worked on the coloring. I used the color pallate that I created previously. I began by coloring the base color for the outer layer of the body. I gave him  grayish blue color for the body, and gave the softly saturated yellow color for the golden material of his clothing, and I gave him color for skin and hair. Similarly I gave him blue eyes to reflect the ocean. I chose the vibrant yellow color for the trident and my character possess the power to control electricity. Please see the pictures below to know in details.

Step 12.

After coloring the character, I tweaked with the colors using Hue/Saturation menu. By pressing Ctrl+U, menu of Hue and Saturation appeared in new layer. I played with the Hue to change the color and saturation to give the color different looks. I got several color combination. You can see the image below.

I did not like the results of the tweaked color combination, therefore I sticked with the orginal color. After deciding my final look, I dived into the highlight and shadow part. I worked with the highlights and color of my character and got the following result.

Character with Shadow
Character with shadow and highlight.

After getting the desired look, I added some effects on my character and added blue backgroud to make the effect glow brighter.
Final Look.

The final outcome was amazing. It gave me a whole new experience while working on this character. Even though, I lost my files, it gave me a new opportunity to create new character for my hero which I loved more than the last character I made. Likewise, I made 2 more concept art for the character with 2 different gestures.

I hope you guys are loving my artworks. Thank you for following through my journey. In upcoming blogs, I will be posting about my another Villainess character. Hope to see you in the next blog about Role/clothing of Vishnu- The Phoenix Emperor.
